William Dodson, Managing Director of Silk Road Advisors, will be a co-chair and speaker at the Fifth Annual Summit on Legal and Financial Strategies for Doing Business in China, 12-13 December 2007.

Mr. Dodson will be speaking on the cultural aspects of business communications and negotiations with Chinese business and government representatives. He has also been invited to speak on, "Investment Trends in China's 2nd- and 3rd-Tier Cities."

The Summit addresses the business and legal realities of investing in China. The intended audience is: Corporate Counsel, VP International Tax, International Business Development Executives, Corporate Financial and Tax Executives, International Business Accountants, Accountants and Lawyers with International Clients, International Investment and Commercial Bankers.

William Dodson, Managing Director of Silk Road Advisors, will be speaking to a group of executives from various Latin American countries on "The Economics and Risks of Doing Business in China." The presentation takes place in Suzhou, China, 9 October 2006. After the presentation executives will tour facilities managed and/or owned by Spanish-speaking managers of facilities in Suzhou. Participants will then visit cultural sites in Suzhou to place rapid economic developments in historic context.

The University of Notre Dame International Executive Program and Silk Road Advisors (SRA) work together in China to present immersion programs to orient and educate Western executives to the 21st-century China market. SRA Managing Director William Dodson is on the International Programs Faculty for the University of Notre Dame Executive Education Department.

to Deliver a Keynote Address at Industrial Park Opening

William Dodson, Managing Director of Silk Road Advisors, will be delivering a keynote address at the Opening of the Xuancheng Industrial Park in Xuancheng, Anhui Province, China. The principals of B2B Link China International and government officials of Xuancheng invited Mr. Dodson to give the speech as principal of a consultancy that represents the interests of Western investors in China. The Xuancheng Industrial Park is one of the first economic development zones of its kind in Anhui province to cater to the requirements and standards of primarily Danish among other Western investors.

Mr. Henrik Eriksen, a principal of B2B, explains, "We have decided to set up the industrial park focusing on SME in Denmark’s (and other places) that need help moving out to China. We are not making a traditional park where you rent out facilities. We plan to both supply the companies with parts and subassemblies from our own B2B Hardware (Xuancheng) Co. William Dodson, Managing Director of Silk Road Advisors, has had published in the January 2008 issue of China Economic Review an article entitled “Setting Up in Suzhou.” The article discusses the advantages of investing in Suzhou, its living environment, and resources for getting a business started and family situated in “The Venice of China”.

William Dodson, Managing Director of Silk Road Advisors, was recently interviewed for the August 2007 issue of China International Magazine. The article will discuss China’s development as a Business Process Outsourcing platform for Western and Asian countries such as South Korea and Japan. Mr. Dodson discussed with the interviewer China’s capabilities as a BPO center; the challenges posed to China in the shadow of India’s prowess in the industry; approaches China will need to take to make it a world leader in the field, and other concerns.

William Dodson, Managing Director of Silk Road Advisors, was recently interviewed in the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM Shanghai) July/August 2007 issue of Insight Magazine. The article, “Sell by the Seashore,” focuses on the investment environment in Dalian, a second-tier city in Shandong province. Dalian has become a major focus in the development of the Bohai region in the northeast of China. It has become a center for IT- and Business Process Outsourcing, as well as a major transport and logistics hub.
